Shade trees amid coffee plant at El Refugio, 2023

This outstanding Gesha comes from El Refugio farm, owned by the Agudelo Uribe family in the Villamaría area of Colombia's Caldas region. Since purchasing the land in 2020, they have dedicated themselves to speciality coffee cultivation — employing agroforestry principles and water-saving equipment to protect and enrich the surrounding ecosystem.

Spanning 7.5 hectares at altitudes between 1,750 and 2,050 masl, the farm is planted with a carefully chosen selection of varieties including Gesha, Pink Bourbon, and Sidra.

All coffee at El Refugio is currently processed as fully washed, letting the character of the variety and region shine through. This Gesha lot delivers a beautifully delicate yet complex sweet and floral cup.
