We’re hiring: Part-time Front of House
Maternity Leave Cover : April - October 2026
A part-time opportunity for a sociable person in a great team and lots of lovely regulars.
Working days & hours:
Start date: 30th March 2026
Working days & hours: 12-15 hrs/week; 1 day of the weekend, Mon, Tue; 10am - 2:30/3pm
If further working hours are wanted we can keep this in mind and aim to accommodate. There is often holiday cover required to more shifts can often be picked up.
Pay & other details:
Pay rate : £13.45/h + tips (We are committed to paying in line with the Real Living Wage)
5.6 weeks holiday (pro rata)
50% off food and drink in the cafe, 20% off retail, 10% off for friends and family; weekly bag of coffee to drink at home
Key responsibilities:
Welcoming customers as they walk through the door and navigating any newcomers as to how things work (ordering, service, menu etc.)
Understanding menu and ability make recommendations
Taking orders and delivering them to tables efficiently
Having a good chat with people and checking-in throughout their visit, many of our customers are regulars and fostering good relationships and a friendly atmosphere is just as important as providing great quality products
Clearing tables and maintaining a tidy and clean shop and counter
Helping with front-of-house washing up & restocking of crockery, cutlery, disposables
Providing friendly and genuine welcome and experience to all our customers
Interest in coffee is very welcome and when shown we will strive to provide support in learning and development.
Who we’re looking for:
Someone with an outgoing personality, passion for genuine hospitality and tasty food and drink. Can-do attitude, a keen eye for detail and common sense will go a long way, basic barista skills would be a plus but not required. This is a predominantly a front of house role so you won’t be making coffee on the regular but having the skills to jump on shots when busy or cover some breaks would be handy. We will provide training where needed. Must have your head screwed on and be a team player.

We’re all about relaxed, friendly service and have awesome base of local regulars as well as frequent out of town visitors, many of whom are regular drinkers of our coffees. It is a flagship store representing our brand as well as a neighbourhood cafe and a brunch spot. A place we nurture for and with our community here in Margate. Not gonna lie, it’s hard work but it’s also super fun, we have a really great team as well as customers and you get to eat some real tasty foods and drink all the coffee!
