This lot comes from an association of around 50 small holder farmers. They form a sub-group within the Coop Occidente, a cooperative located around the village of San Sebastian de Palmitas (or simply Palmitas), near the city of Medellin in Antioquia.

The producers have established processes to improve cup quality and consistency between lots and are supported in this by the cooperative. Each of the farms has its own washing and drying station, normally  adjacent to the owner's house.  Coffee is selectively hand picked and then pulped on the same day using mechanical pulpers. The depulped coffee is fermented for around 15 hours before being fully washed, and is then dried in small, hand-constructed greenhouses (marquesinas), on raised beds or patios. The cooperative plans to invest soon in access to new varieties for members along with improving their washing and drying facilities.
